BURSARY APPLICATION

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR BURSARY APPLICATION

Applicants/Students who wish to apply for a bursary at Tshwane North TVET College need to 100% meet the minimum requirements listed below.


WHO CAN APPLY……?
New Application Level 2 NC (V)
N1 Engineering and N4 Business Studies
  • Only South African Citizens.
  • Registered or intending to register for an NC (V) programme/ N1 or
N4 Engineering/ Business Studies.
  • Financially needy students with academic potential.
  • Evidence of good academic performance.
Level 3 and 4/N2-N6
  • Registration for an NC (V) \ programme/N2-N6.
  • NC (V) passed a minimum of five (5) subjects. N2-N6 passed a minimum of 3 subjects.
  • Statement of results as evidence of good academic performance.
  • Financially needy students with good academic results will be considered.
  • According to the admission policy and selection criteria of the College.
  • Only South African citizens
  • All prospective students need to apply online. Log on: www.nsfas.org.za and apply for bursary. Ask NSFAS to give you a proof of provisional funding to produce at the Bursary office of TNC, for clearance to register. If you don’t have access to internet at home, and you wish to study at TNC in , please feel free to come to the College and request to apply for a bursary.
The following documents and information must be provided:
  1. Original copies or certified copies of salary advise slips of ALL individuals who are earning a salary or some form of a salary including but not limited to parents/guardians/spouse/brother/sister/uncle/unity/ grandparents any other person residing with an applicant. If necessary, an appointment letter must be attached or SAPS sworn affidavit.
  2. Proof of home address. NB This is an address where an applicant’s parents/legal guardian stays (water and lights bill/official letter from the Ward Councillor/official letter from the office of the traditional leader).
  3. Proof of residence of an applicant while studying. (Official letter from the landlords with an official stamp/as above).
  4. Number of family members, age and educational status of members in the household. Add proof of registration of those who are students or learners. Those who are neither students/learners not working need to write an affidavit stating that they stay with an applicant and they are not working/studying.
  5. Official letter from the social worker confirming that the parent is getting a Child grant/Old age/Disability grant etc.
  • Certified copies of BOTH parents/guardian’s pension payments not older than three months from date of application (if applicable). Proof of pension from social workers.
  • If a parent/guardian is unemployed she/he must make an affidavit at the Commissioner of Oath/ SAPS (If applicable)-of how they make a living.
  • Bursary application form completed in full.
  • Proof of marital status if married, divorced or widowed (if applicable).
  • New students supply Grade 9/10/11/12 statement of results; existing students supply academic history.
  • Proof of registration reflecting the number of registered subjects.
  • It is the responsibility of all applicants to ensure that they are contactable by supplying credible contact details and updated banking details.
  • Note that the bursary will only be confirmed after an applicant has fully completed the registration with the College and has produced a proof of registration with the bursary office.
  • No bursary will be confirmed without the College proof of registration.
PLEASE NOTE
  • This is a 100% bursary, 0% loan, all bursary funds you are awarded with will not be paid back to the College/ Government.
  • Terms and conditions apply such as:
    • good/excellent academic performance;
    • at least 100%-80% attendance of classes;
    • Means test results and all applicable documents submitted.
    • Bursaries are not guaranteed even to students that are deemed
  • needy through the Means test. It is dependant on the total bursary
  • allocation of the College. The College will prioritise tuition fees before
  • paying any allowances
  • Students are responsible for paying the difference if not awarded the full funds.
  • In the Enrolment plan references will be given to full-time equivalent
  • students to ensure the allocation of funding by DHET
  • All new students are obligated to pay a non-refundable application fee of R200 upon registration.
